A send-off party for the 54th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition was held in Tokyo.

On Nov. 9th, a send-off party was held for the 54th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition and crew of Shirase.
Education minister Makiko Tanaka, former LDP president Sadakazu Tanigaki, officials of Ministry of Defense and many other people attended the party.
Ohara’s president Okito Ohara also attended the party to encourage Mr. Furumi and other members.
